Highway Systems
The expressway and highway system in Genesee County is
extensive. I-75, I-69 and US-23 intersect at the center
of the county. Additionally, the road system has other beneficial
attributes:
- I-75 has a bypass around the city (I-475) to relieve
congestion on busy weekends and holidays
- There are alternative highway routes north-south and
east-west in the event of road closure due to accident
- Expressways are three and four lanes through most of
the county
- Average Daily Traffic counts range from 31,500 units
per day to 95,600 units per day click

- I-75, I-69 and US 23 are not at capacity like similar
highways systems in the state making the transport of
goods/supplies easier
- All highways are maintained by the State of Michigan
and local municipalities
- Available commercial and industrial sites are located
within minutes of the highway system
