Chris Del Morone, Democrat
Candidate for: State Representative - 34th District
Response:*
The office is 34th District State of Michigan House of Representatives. I should be elected to this office because of my diverse background and practical experience.
As you know Flint and the State of Michigan are experiencing a mired of problems including but not limited to the mortgage crisis, dwindling property values and at the same time increasing property taxes and a lack of true economic development in many of our cities. To overcome these problems we as a city and state no longer need political solutions but true economic solutions.
My background and experience of formerly being a licensed real estate salesperson, a current City of Flint Board of Review member and a graduate of the University of Michigan – Flint with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration will help bring about the economic solutions to the problems facing communities throughout our state.
Being employed by General Motors for over thirty years I understand the problems facing some of our largest employers in this state. As a member of the UAW, I understand labors concerns and those of the unemployed. I understand the needs and concerns of the small business owner operator having worked at many of them over the years.
Finally, it’s important that our leaders recognize the contribution of community volunteerism. For over fifteen years I have volunteered at each of the following organizations Easter Seals, Special Olympics and the Bobby Crim Festival of Races.
