I am running on the Republican ticket for Genesee County Treasurer. Because debits and credits are neither Republican nor Democrat,  I believe experience and integrity are paramount for the position of Treasurer.

Since its inception, I have questioned the merits of the Land Bank Authority of Genesee County. I believe this program has been used for purposes other than its original intent. As Treasurer, I will recommend disbanding the Land Bank Authority immediately. The function of the Treasurer is to convey critical information to those responsible for various county functions, not to make a profit, and certainly not to speculate in real estate.

I will bring integrity and accountability to the Office of the Treasurer. I will make sure this office has state-of-the-art communications software to expedite the delivery of financial information.

I have over 23 years of experience in accounting and finance, as well as running my own consulting company for over ten years. I have consulted for Fortune 500 companies, and I have done non-profit and small business accounting. I have a BS in Education from Eastern Michigan University, an MA in Education, and an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Wayne State University. My opponent only attended Mott Community College and U of M Flint. He also stated in the past that he spends about 60 hours a week doing the business of the Land Bank Authority. I promise to put the Treasurer back into the Treasurer’s Office.
